Armijo, 44, then arranged to meet and have sex with the boy in Rancho Cucamonga. When he showed up, detectives took him into custody, according to the SBSO.
Sheriff s detectives determined Armijo was a teacher but was not employed at the time of the arrest.
He was identified by the San Dieguito Union High School District as a temporary English, video and film teacher during the 2017-2018 school year at Canyon Crest Academy in Carmel Valley in a statement sent to parents.
“We did not receive any complaints about this employee during his brief time in our District, but because the safety of our young people is our highest priority, we encourage you to share any relevant information with law enforcement,” the statement read in part.

Authorities have arrested a 17-year-old boy following a high-speed pursuit in Apple Valley earlier this week.
The Apple Valley Sheriff’s Station reported Thursday that Deputy Stuart Cullum observed a Cadillac SLS speeding eastbound on Bear Valley Road at 11:07 p.m. Wednesday.
Cullum attempted to stop the vehicle before a short chase ensued. The driver, later identified as the 17-year-old boy whose name was not released, allegedly drove recklessly through a residential area, reaching speeds of over 90 mph and crossing over double yellow lines, the report said.

An 18-year-old Victorville man has pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor reckless driving and fleeing from a peace officer following an incident that started at the Super Target in Hesperia.
Pablo Quinones appeared in court Tuesday afternoon via video and posted bail later that night after a judge set the amount at $100,000, records show. He is due back in court March 2 for a pre-trial hearing. A public defender was assigned to his case.
The Hesperia Sheriff’s Station reported Friday that deputies arrested Quinones after he allegedly evaded them in his vehicle, which included a 17-year-old passenger.
Victorville man sentenced after pleading no contest to animal cruelty; pit bull puppy adopted

A judge has sentenced a Victorville man who beat a pit bull puppy and pleaded no contest to felony animal cruelty fewer than two weeks after his arrest.
San Bernardino Superior Court Judge Michael Camber sentenced 31-year-old Caliph Harris to 90 days in county jail where he will be eligible for a weekend/work release program.
Harris was given 12 days credit for time served,12 days credit for good conduct and will likely serve half his sentence per state law, court records show.
As part of his 24-month probation, Harris is prohibited from owning or caring for any animals and was ordered to participate in rehabilitative programs for animal abuse.
