HALF MOON BAY, Calif. - A Redwood City man was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of assaulting a woman who was riding a bike along Highway 1 on a trail next to the beach.
Deputies from the San Mateo County Sheriff s Office responded within two minutes of the 9:07 a.m. report and arrested Andrew William Seba Kern on suspicion of several offenses: assault with a deadly weapon, robbery, intimidating a witness and committing a felony while on bail.

HALF MOON BAY, Calif. (AP) Authorities in Northern California arrested a man who allegedly shoved a woman bicycling on a beach path down a rocky slope then threw the bike on top of her, officials said.
The man, who was only identified as a Redwood City resident, was arrested following the attack Tuesday by deputies from the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office. He is suspected of assault with a deadly weapon, robbery, committing a felony while on bail, and intimidating a witness, the sheriff’s office said.
The last charge came because the man threatened a surfer who along with other beachgoers saw the attack in Half Moon Bay and came to the woman s aid, the Mercury News reported.

Deputies searched a subject who was on a search and seizure probation status. The deputies say they found illegal drugs and paraphernalia. The subject was cited on a promise to appear.
Drunken driving
1:29 a.m., April 24, Poplar Street at Second Avenue
Deputies stopped a driver during a traffic stop who they say displayed signs of alcohol intoxication. The subject performed a series of sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for DUI.
Warrant
8:45 a.m., April 24, 900 block Dwight Avenue
A man was contacted and had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant from the San Mateo County Sheriffâs Office. He was arrested and booked into San Mateo County jail.
