Moss Beach man arrested on rape charge

The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Rosendo Hernandez Arroyo, a 20-year-old Moss Beach resident, for allegedly raping a child from Pescadero in October. Deputies arrested Hernandez Arroyo on March 23 at his home on suspicion of rape by force or fear and forcible lewd acts with a child under 14, a statement from the Sheriff’s Office reads. He pleaded not guilty to the charges and remains in custody on a $1 million bail. — August Howell

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. - A 24-year-old Redwood City man was arrested for attempted carjacking Friday after he was foiled by the driver and held until deputies arrived, the San Mateo County Sheriff s Office said.  The attempted carjacking was reported about 8:30 a.m. in the 600 block of Hurlingame Avenue in Redwood City, where the victim was located holding the suspect, identified as Manuel Zepeda Rosales, a transient, for deputies to arrest. Rosales was searched and found to be in possession of a switch blade and numerous pieces of mail that were not his, officials said.

Suspects who stole San Carlos man s identity arrested By Astrid Casimire article SAN CARLOS, Calif. - Deputies from the San Mateo County Sheriff s Office arrested two suspects Tuesday in connection with an identity theft case involving over $200,000 of fraudulent purchases. Patrol deputies and detectives from the Sheriff s Office Crime Suppression Unit executed a search warrant at a fraudulently rented apartment in San Jose and arrested 32-year-old Jamie Wise. That same day, deputies arrested 37-year-old San Jose resident Alexander Rivas at a different location in San Jose. Upon searching the apartment and two fraudulently purchased vehicles, deputies found an identity theft lab with electronics, victim IDs and a stash of stolen mail from multiple Bay Area counties.
