–The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office is releasing new information regarding a child exploitation investigation. The investigation began on Sept. 25, 2020, when sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a report of a suspected criminal act in Los Osos. It was learned that a minor resident of San Luis Obispo County was contacted on the internet via an online gaming platform and lewd images were sent to the victim.
An initial report was taken and ultimately forwarded to the San Luis Obispo County Counter Human Trafficking Team, a team comprised of investigators from the Sheriff’s Special Operations Unit and the District Attorney’s Office Bureau of Investigation, who assumed responsibility for the continuing investigation.

Human trafficking suspect may be in Kern County

The Kern County Sheriff s Office is seeking the public s help to locate a man wanted for pimping and human trafficking involving children.
Joshua Diante Murphy, 26, is wanted by the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff s Office as part of a human trafficking investigation.
His charges include human trafficking of a victim under 18 years of age, pimping of a prostitute under 16, lewd act with a child 14 or 15, obscene matter depicting minor for commercial consideration, and conspiracy to commit a crime.
Murphy is known to frequent Kern County.

Two new billboards seeking assistance in the disappearance of Kristin Smart have been spotted on the Central Coast.
Cal Poly student Kristin Smart was last seen on May 25, 1996, after returning to campus from a fraternity party in San Luis Obispo.
One billboard can be seen in San Luis Obispo near South Higuera Street and Elks Lane. The other is near the Cuesta Grade on US 101 northbound but can only be seen by southbound traffic.
Both billboards say Justice for Kristin with a push to the website kristinsmart.org.
Paso Robles police arrest suspected drug dealer

Paso Robles police arrested a 23-year-old suspected drug dealer last week after finding a combined total of about $30,000 worth of methamphetamine and heroin in his apartment.
On March 25, members of the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office, SLO County Probation Department and Homeland Security served a search warrant at a residence in the 1200 block of Corral Creek Avenue. A sheriff’s K-9 searched the apartment and discovered a bag of methamphetamine and baggies of heroin on the floor of the bedroom closet, according to investigators.
The K-9 also alerted investigators to a backpack near the bed and a dresser next to the bed. Detectives discovered evidence of sales of narcotics, including two digital scales, packaging and a ledger book.
