The foggy skies are filling in over the south coast and into the valleys across Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties with increasing cover over the north coast region. The deepening marine layer will keep temperatures at or slightly below seasonal averages, especially if clearing is gradual along the coast. Daytime highs over the coastal valleys will range from the mid to upper 60s with light winds from five to ten miles per hour. Over the interiors, skies will be mostly clear by the afternoon hours and daytime highs will range from the mid-70s to the mid-80s. Along the coast is where it s expected to be much cooler as daytime highs will range from the mid-50s to the low 60s with gradual clearing through late morning. Latest COVID-19 New Case Count For Central, South Coasts Only 60

Tri-Counties hoping to get to state s yellow reopening level soon The new COVID-19 case count numbers continue to remain low, as the Central and South Coasts hope to reach the next level in the reopening process. 60 additional cases were reported in the Tri-Counties Wednesday. The total includes 28 in Ventura County, 11 in Santa Barbara County, and 21 in San Luis Obispo County. The total number of cases in the region stands at just over 136,200. No COVID-19 related deaths were reported in our area Wednesday. All three counties remain in the state’s Orange reopening tier, but are hoping to get to Yellow, which will allow things like increased indoor restaurant capacity.

Ventura County Hits Grim Pandemic Milestone

The COVID-19 related death toll for the county has reached the one thousand mark It’s a number Ventura County Public Health officials thought we’d never see. In the first months of the crisis, they were worried we might have two or three hundred deaths. But, the three deaths reported Friday pushed the county’s COVID-19 related total to an even 1000. Oxnard has had the most deaths in the county, with 358, followed by Ventura with 128 and Simi Valley at 65. For the Tri-Counties, the overall death toll is now at 1700 deaths. Santa Barbara County has had 444, and San Luis Obispo County 256.
