Jacksonville Holiday Home Decorating contest winners  The City of Jacksonville Environmental and Appearance Advisory Committee recently named the winners of the 2020 Holiday Home Decorating contest winners. The contest encourages city residents to show their community pride and creativity during the months of October, November, and December.  Halloween category: First place, Raymond and Angela Drye - 108 Fawn Trail; second place, Patrick and Margaret Benjamin - 129 Dublin Lane; third place, Nina Mahlum - 404 Windham Court.  Christmas category: Best Cottage Decoration, George Kelly - 312 Anne Street; Best Classic Cottage Decoration, Timothy and Angela Solum - 100 Keller Court; Best Classic Decoration, Charlie Brown - 2614 Northwoods Drive; Most Welcoming Decoration, The Bader Family - 121 Wesleyan Court; Griswold Worthy Decoration, Michele Vanhorn - 1007 Decatur Road; Best Use of Space Decoration, Marissa Kelly - 121 Arthur Court; Most Patriotic Decoration, Jason and Corey Lagan

Staff photo by Jennifer Fierro Burnet High School celebrated four of its senior student-athletes Wednesday, Feb. 3, as they signed their National Letters of Intent to play college sports. The four are football player Braedan Howell, Sam Houston State University in Huntsville; football player Jaxson Denton, the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton; soccer player Phebe Musasa, Schreiner University in Kerrville; and swimmer Maczimus Griego, Alfred State College of Technology in New York state.
