CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, Ohio (WDTN) The intersection of State Route 235 and State Route 29 has reopened following a fatal motorcycle accident Friday night.
2 NEWS has a crew in Adams Township where they witnessed authorities remove a body from the scene. The person’s identity has not been released and the coroner’s office has not confirmed the death at this time.
A damaged motorcycle was found by police in the grass beside the intersection, which was closed for several hours while authorities investigated.
2 NEWS contacted the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office but they were unable to provide additional information about the crash.

ADAMS TWP. – A 23-year-old woman died after being ejected from a motorcycle on Friday at approximately 6:50 p.m., according to information from the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office.
Tiffany Crim was a passenger on a 2004 Harley Davidson driven by James Barker, age 36, of St. Paris. The motorcycle was traveling southbound on North state Route 235 near the intersection of state Route 29 when Barker lost control of the vehicle. The motorcycle traveled left of center and collided with a 1999 Toyota Camry, driven by 37-year-old Brittany Young of Sidney.
Barker was ejected along with Crim.

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. A gunman killed one central Illinois police officer and wounded another before he was fatally shot during a shootout at an apartment complex early Wednesday, authorities said.
The officers went to the complex in Champaign shortly after 3 a.m. in response to a report about a domestic disturbance and encountered the armed suspect, police said. An exchange of gunfire followed in which both officers and the suspect were shot.
Officer Chris Oberheim, 44, died of his wounds, the city’s police chief, Anthony Cobb, said in a statement. The wounded officer was hospitalized in stable condition, the department said.
