The Renfrew County and District Health Unit has reported 16 new cases of COVID-19 and 15 more resolved cases in the past four days.
The updated case summary for March 8 shows one person is receiving treatment in the intensive care unit for the virus and 28 individuals are self-isolating. The biggest jump was seven new cases reported on March 7. Two more residents of long-term care/retirement homes have tested positive for COVID-19, in addition to a student from Champlain Discovery Public School and there are 13 more community cases. The new cases since the March 4 update are as follows: four each in Pembroke, McNab/Braeside and Arnprior, two in Bonnechere Valley and one each in Laurentian Valley and Petawawa.

The Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) is confirming that a staff member at Valour JK-12 School in Petawawa and a student at Champlain Discovery Public School in Pembroke, have tested positive for novel coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19).
RCDHU is working closely with the Renfrew County District School Board (RCDSB) to ensure necessary measures continue to be in place to protect all staff, students and the public, according to a release issued Tuesday morning.
