Downtown Lafayette hosting downtown parking forum on Wednesday

Downtown Lafayette hosting downtown parking forum on Wednesday LCG and last updated 2021-02-02 16:18:12-05 On Wednesday morning, Downtown Lafayette is hosting a public forum on downtown parking at Acadiana Center for the Arts. After a recently announced change to parking meters in Downtown Lafayette, a forum was set up for the public to voice their concerns and opinions. The proposed changes included doubling meter fees and 24/7 monitoring and were supposed to take effect on January 19. DDA says that after a council meeting in late January, the change will not yet be put in place. It’s more important than ever to open up a dialogue and ensure that stakeholders most impacted by any future changes to parking, including business owners, residents, employees, developers, and visitors, have a chance to share their insights, concerns, and ideas for how to make downtown parking more user-friendly and business-friendly, Downtown Lafayette says.
