Pensioner hospitalised with serious injuries after being hit by car on Scots street

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a 91-year-old pedestrian was injured in a collision with a car in Greenock on Sunday morning. The pensioner was on Union Street when he was seriously hurt by a white Ford Fiesta being driven by an 80-year-old man. Emergency services rushed to the scene at 11am and the road was closed until 1.30pm. The 91-year-old was taken to hospital with serious injuries, where he is currently receiving treatment. The driver of the car was uninjured and assisted police at the scene. Sergeant John Bradford from Police Scotland’s road policing unit said: We’re investigating the circumstances of this collision and would ask anyone who saw what happened to get in touch.
