FLINT – The Charles Stewart Mott Foundation has granted $1 million to the YMCA of Greater Flint to help the organization maintain its services in the community as it deals with significant financial loss caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The two-year grant with $500,000 distributed in 2021 and $500,000 in 2022 will allow the YMCA to continue to serve residents through its downtown Flint and Pierson Road facilities, as well as Camp Copneconic in Mundy Township, while planning for long-term sustainability.

Mott Foundation Grant Will Provide Meals For Flint Covid Vaccine Volunteers
The Charles Stewart Mott Foundation announced a grant yesterday to help the people volunteering at Covid Vaccine sites in Flint.
The $50,000 grant has been given to the Genesee Chamber Foundation to provide meals to the volunteers working at Covid vaccine sites. The grant money is aimed at rewarding the hard working frontline healthcare workers, but the money will help others in Genesee County as well. The money will be spent at local restaurants that have been hit hard by pandemic restrictions put in place.
