CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - A mother is now calling for stricter penalties for failure to yield accidents involving injury or death after her son was killed in a crash.
Robert “Bobby” Fiaccato, 30, of Summerville died at Trident Medical Center on April 3 from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle collision, according to Charleston County Coroner Bobbi Jo O’Neal.
The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office says Fiaccato was ejected from his motorcycle when a car traveling in the opposite direction attempted to make a left turn onto Von Oshen Road from Lincolnville Road causing the motorcycle to hit the car.

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - Summerville Police say a man wanted in connection to a shooting last week is in custody.
Brandon Tyler Spells is charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, according to Lt. Chris Hirsch.
Police arrested Spells at a North Charleston apartment complex Tuesday afternoon.
The charges stem from a shooting on April 17 near Central Avenue.
Police responded at approximately 12:27 a.m. to the 100 block of Central Avenue after receiving 911 calls about the shooting.

CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - The Charleston County Sheriffâs Office released the name of the deputy who was wounded in an officer-involved shooting Saturday in McClellanville.
Master Deputy Micah Cox suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his arm, according to Capt. Roger Antonio.
Deputies say the man opened fire on the deputies, injuring Cox.
The sheriffâs office eventually used a bomb deactivating robot to go into the home and discovered the man had already been wounded.

MCCLELLENVILLE, S.C. (WCSC) - The Humanities Foundation says they will be hosting a free grocery give-away in Charleston County.
The give-away will be held at the Greater Howard Chapel AME Church located at 8592 Old Georgetown Road in McClellenville. Organizers say the give-away will start at 2 p.m. Monday and extend until 5 p.m.
While the give-away will be conducted as a drive-thru, organizers say a home delivery service is available for a limited number of people. Those interested in possibly qualifying for the home delivery service can call 843-790-9831.
