Charleston child care worker charged with hitting infants

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) A judge is denying bail to a child care employee who is charged with assaulting three infants at a Charleston daycare center.
WCSC-TV reports 55-year-old Tina Rose Nye was denied bail Saturday. She faces two counts of assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, one count of second-degree assault and battery and three counts of unlawful conduct toward a child.
It s unclear if Nye has a lawyer to speak for her. She remained jailed Sunday.
Sworn statements from the Charleston County Sheriff s Office say Nye assaulted infants between the ages of 3 months old and 5 months old.

The Charleston County Sheriffâs Office said the vaccinations began this week with the center receiving 500 initial doses of the Moderna vaccine. According to the sheriffâs office, 166 residents at the center were vaccinated on Tuesday and Wednesday, and more are expected to be vaccinated.

CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - Troopers with the South Carolina Highway Patrol have cited a Charleston County deputy for a crash that killed two people earlier this year.
The Charleston County Sheriffâs Office said on Wednesday that troopers cited Deputy Alan Kendall for driving too fast for conditions for the Jan. 3 collision that killed 77-year-old Sandra Eisner and 85-year-old Sonny Brower.
Kendall is currently on paid administrative duty pending the outcome of the sheriffâs office internal affairs investigation.

WEST ASHLEY, S.C. (WCSC) - Kim Marion was still recovering from a medical procedure at home Sunday afternoon when her 16-year-old son Matthew came in to check on her and ask permission to ride his bike in the neighborhood.
âNot a good five minutes later, he called me on the phone and told me he was shot,â Marion said. âI got out of my bed and into my car only to see my child lying on the ground with a bullet wound in his side.â
