Courts across the county have given out hefty prison sentences for all manner of crimes last month. These are just some of the court cases our reporters covered last month. Here are the criminals and their crimes:
Aston Hannis, Charlie Statham, Paul White and Corin Barlow
Aston Hannis, Charlie Statham, Paul White and Corin Barlow FRIENDS who lured a drugs supplier to a rural layby and then shot him at point-blank range were jailed for a total of 95 years. Gurinderjit Rai, 41, was shot in the head and neck by sawn-off Beretta 12-bore shotgun in Shepherds Farm Lane, Corhampton, on July 12, 2019. He was found the following day by two horseriders.

LONDON – A drug dealer has been convicted of the “assassination” of his Indo-British supplier after gunning him down in a rural layby.
The body of Gurinderjit Rai, 41, was found in a car in a countryside lane in Corhampton, Hampshire by two horse riders in July 2019.
A court heard that tensions had risen between the victim – known as G – and dealer Aston Hannis, 30 after a robbery of his safe house.
TWO men have been jailed for life for the assassination of a drugs supplier from Cheshire who was shot dead in a rural lay-by. Gurinderjit Rai s body was found in a Ford Fiesta in a countryside lane in Corhampton, Hampshire, by two horse riders on July 13, 2019. Dealer Aston Hannis, 30, of Eastleigh, was found guilty at Winchester Crown Court of the murder of the 41-year-old – who was originally from Eastleigh but was more recently based in Cheshire. He was jailed for life with a minimum term of 35 years. Co-defendant, Charlie Statham, 30, of Winchester, was also convicted of murder and jailed for life to serve a minimum of 28 years.
