FARMVILLE, Va. The Piedmont Health District announced it will begin Phase 1B of the COVID-19 vaccine rollout on Tuesday. The district encompasses the counties of Amelia, Buckingham, Charlotte, Cumberland, Lunenburg, Nottoway, and Prince Edward.
The health district said in a news release that it would activate closed point of dispensing clinics for this group which includes police, fire, and hazmat response personnel, those living and working in correctional facilities, homeless shelters and migrant labor camps, childcare/K-12 teachers and staff, food and agriculture workers, manufacturers, grocery store workers, public transit workers, mail carriers (USPS and private), anyone age 65 and older, and those individual 16-64 years old with high risk medical conditions.

FARMVILLE, Va. (WWBT) - Starting on Tuesday, the Piedmont Health District will begin vaccinating residents in Phase 1b of the stateâs COVID-19 vaccine plan.
While individuals in Phase 1b will now be able to get the vaccine, those in Phase 1a will still have opportunities to be vaccinated.
The health district says Phase 1b includes âpolice, fire and hazmat response personnel, those living and working in correctional facilities, homeless shelters and migrant labor camps, childcare/K-12 teachers and staff, food and agriculture workers, manufacturers, grocery store workers, public transit workers, mail carriers (USPS and private), anyone age 65 and older, and those individual 16-64 years old with high risk medical conditions.â

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (WWSB) - The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office confirms eight inmates who are experiencing minor symptoms tested positive for COVID-19. The inmates are said to be being treated by on-site medical professionals. The cases were found within two housing units which were locked down as soon as the information was received. The Sheriff’s Office says inmates within these units are in isolation and do not have contact with others.
A 14-day quarantine period is mandatory for all inmates who are booked into the Charlotte County Jail.
