Raleigh, N.C. North Raleigh Christian was ranked second last fall out of all teams in the eastern half of North Carolina, no matter what association they played in.
This fall, the Knights are ending the year No. 1 in a statewide ranking after capturing their sixth straight N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association championship.
Four teams in the final statewide top 25 belonged to associations other than the NCISAA: the Alamance Acers and New Life Camp Storm belong to the N.C. Home Educators Athletic Conference, Union Grove Christian plays in the N.C. Christian Schools Association, and Sheets Memorial Christian plays in the Christian Schools Athletic Conference.
Bo Hines was once a highly touted freshman wide receiver at North Carolina State University.
Now, he s a Republican embarking on a 2022 congressional run to represent North Carolina s 5th District in Washington.
Hines, 25, announced his bid for office for a seat that s long been held by Rep. Virginia Foxx, a Watauga County Republican who has represented the 5th District since 2005.
While Gaston and Cleveland counties had long been part of North Carolina s 10th Congressional District, both counties became part of the 5th U.S. House District in 2019.
Hines lists fair trade, infrastructure investment and fighting against tyranny of mobs and big tech giants looking to take away our God given rights, among his campaign s motivators. He also echoed a common Republican refrain in the weeks after the 2020 general election that he will fight to ensure your vote is counted at the ballot box and that your voice is heard in Washington, D.C.
