26-Year-Old Fatally Shot In Northeast Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. A 26-year-old man was fatally shot in northeast Charlotte Monday afternoon sparking a homicide investigation, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
Officers responded to Charger Court around 5 p.m. after receiving an assault with a deadly weapon call for service. Upon arrival, CMPD found the victim, identified as Rashawn Pitt, suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to the hospital by Medic where he has since been pronounced dead by staff, police said.
The investigation into this case is active and ongoing.
