Part of Knight’s Gambit Vineyard’s mission as a local business is to give back to the Charlottesville community. In 2007, in honor of Alexandra Summers, who passed away from brain cancer, they founded the Alexandra Summers Fund through the Charlottesville Area Community Foundation. They’ve have been able to raise funds for organizations such as the Free Clinic, The Southern Environmental Law Center and the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank. In conjunction with Bad to the Bones Sports, they’re hosting the Charlottesville Marathon on Saturday, April 10th. They welcome you to join them for a day of running with the Blue Ridge in view, live music and food trucks with proceeds from the fundraiser and wine sales going to Alex’s Fund.
