A man who stabbed another man six times in the head, neck and back has been jailed for six-and-a-half years.
Terence Hart, 39, of Wood Lane, Chippenham, attacked his victim after an earlier argument and returned to seek revenge , Wiltshire Police said.
He was found guilty of one charge of wounding with intent following a trial and sentenced at Salisbury Crown Court on Monday.
The force said the victim s injuries at the time were feared to be fatal.
Hart attacked his victim, who was known to him, on 20 May 2019.

But Recorder Adam Feest QC told Colt Hogg that it was “about as close run thing as it could be” that he wasn’t sending the 19-year-old to prison. Imposing a two year prison sentence suspended for two years, the judge said: “I make it absolutely clear I am going to reserve any breaches of this sentence to myself. “If you breach your sentence I will make it my business to find time to come back to resentence you. “If you and I meet again, unless you have the best excuse for a breach – one which, at the moment I can’t imagine you will find – you will find yourself going to prison.”

Nicholas Wells, 29, who pleaded guilty to sexual assault at Salisbury Crown Court on Friday, knocked at the door of his victim’s caravan in Hudson’s Field, Salisbury, the day before he launched his vile assault in May 2019. He was said to have asked about a lost dog, Swindon magistrates were told in March this year. The following night, on May 19, the victim was having a shower in her caravan. She came out of the shower and was molested by Wells.
