WICOMICO CO.- The Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce is continuing the 10 year tradition of supplying new teachers with gift bags.
We’re told throughout the years the business community supported new teachers in public and private schools through their New Teacher Welcome Bags Program.
Businesses pitch in items, like gifts cards and tickets to sports games, that will get these new teachers out and about.
The Chamber told us by giving back to new teachers- it shows the importance of how much an educated community and a high performing school system means to businesses.
“So, by supporting quality education, by supporting new teachers new to the profession, to this jurisdiction, its a way for the business community to remind everyone, especially elected folks education is a top priority for the business community,” Bill Chambers, President and CEO SBY Chamber of Commerce, said.
