Housing association Salix Homes and partner developer Step Places have completed the purchase of two parcels of land in Seedley, enabling their 157-home project to advance.
Salford City Council signed off on the £3.2m disposal of the sites, which comprise a combined 3.8 acres, in May 2020 – the housing that previously occupied the sites was demolished in 2008.
The combined site will now be branded as Neighbourhood, billed as a 157-home eco-friendly scheme, 91 accounted for by social housing, affordable rent and shared ownership, with 66 offered for outright sale. There will be two-, three- and four-bedroomed homes.
The first site is bordered by Liverpool Street to the south and Alexander Street to the north, and the second is bounded by Kara Street to the south, Greenland Street to the north and is intersected by Harmsworth Street.
