AAR to add up to 250 maintenance technician jobs at Rockford airport

ROCKFORD  A global aerospace company is announcing plans to add up to 250 maintenance technician jobs at the Chicago Rockford International Airport.  AAR Corp. has signed a multiyear agreement to perform airframe maintenance on United Airlines’ narrow-body aircraft fleet at AAR’s maintenance, repair and overhaul facility at RFD. “We are excited to expand our partnership with United Airlines and the city of Rockford,” AAR President and CEO John Holmes said in a news release. “We began operations in Rockford four years ago and have built a track record of solid performance. We are very proud to have secured this long-term contract with United.”

Major Airline Bringing Service Work To Rockford

Credit united.com A major airline will now service many of its planes in Rockford. A-A-R Corporation announced Thursday that United Airlines will use A-A-R’s maintenance, repair and overhaul facility at Chicago Rockford International Airport as a maintenance hub. The site will handle the airline’s Boeing 737 fleet and other aircraft. The service agreement runs through 2025. A-A-R says it will bring 250 new jobs to the region. Local and state officials applauded the contract. Mayor Tom McNamara, Illinois U.S. Representative Cheri Bustos, and Illinois U.S. Senators Tammy Duckworth and Dick Durbin said that it represents an important investment in the facility and the Rockford area.

Wife of man fatally shot by Winnebago County sheriff s deputy speaks out

ROCKFORD Rose Ndoroum called the police Saturday after she and her husband, Faustin Guetigo, had a fight. It wasn t the first time the couple fought, and it was not the first time police were called. It was the last. Guetigo, 27, was fatally shot during an altercation with a Winnebago County sheriff s deputy inside the family s Bellwort Drive ranch-style duplex. Monday morning, glass from a shattered screen door was still on the blood-stained concrete outside the couple s home. Larger blood stains remained on the kitchen floor and white tape marked multiple bullet holes in the walls leading to the basement. Also present Monday in the other half of the duplex: Ndoroum, 20, her mother, the couple s 2-year-old child and Ndoroum s 6-year-old.
