Marijuana distributors continue to grow, this time in Chichester
Published: 4/8/2021 3:03:22 PM
The medical marijuana dispensary in Chichester opens for business Friday for qualifying patients and caregivers, however, New Hampshire stands apart from its neighbors when it comes to fully legalizing pot.
The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services announced Thursday that it had granted a registration certificate to Prime Alternative Treatment Centers of New Hampshire, which can now sell pot to pre-approved patients to combat pain and nausea from its dispensary at 349 Dover Road in Chichester.
The new center fills a gap in the Concord region, created by the distances of the other five dispensaries already operating in the state: Merrimack, Plymouth, Conway, Dover and Lebanon.

These days, pot simply doesn’t create the buzz it once did.
That’s certainly been the case in Chichester, which will soon be home to the state’s sixth therapeutic cannabis dispensary, at 349 Dover Road, on or around April 1.

A proposed dispensary for medical marijuana on Rt. 202 in Chichester will be the subject of discussion during the next meeting of the town board of selectmen.
The alternative treatment center, proposed for the former site of Price Auto Sales, would be operated by Prime Alternative Treatment Centers of New Hampshire, which operates a dispensary in the town of Merrimack.
New Hampshire has five therapeutic cannabis dispensaries and in 2019, the legislature approved two more, one of which is designed to serve Hillsborough and Merrimack counties. The Department of Health and Human Services say they conducted a patient needs assessment that identified “the Concord area as a location that would best alleviate the travel burden on (therapeutic cannabis program) patients” in this region.
