Chico man sentenced to 12 years in state prison for sexual assaults
A Chico man recently convicted of sexually assaulting two women in their own apartments, appeared in Butte County Superior Court Thursday and was sentenced to the maximum term of twelve years in state prison, according to the Butte County District Attorney, Mike Ramsey.

The greater Sacramento region will join other parts of the state moving into a stay-at-home order. The order takes effect at 11:59 p.m. tonight. Counties impacted include: Butte, Colusa, Plumas, Yuba, and Sutter. Indoor dining, indoor recreational facilities – such as gyms, hair salons and barbershops, and movie theaters will all have to close.
In the Northern California region, representatives for Shasta County s Mercy Medical Center say they always prepare for a surge, including additional resources to expand ICU capacity, if necessary. Medical center representatives say 33 ICU beds are open and 10 additional can be made available. Shasta Regional Medical Center reports having 22 ICU beds and say the ICU is almost full.
Prowler peeping through Sorority House windows near CSU, Chico
Chico State University Police are warning of a sorority house prowler on the loose.

CHICO, Calif. - Chico State University Police are warning of a sorority house prowler on the loose.
They shared an image of the man, taken in the yard of one house at about 9:20 Tuesday night.
Investigators say he approached an open window and started touching himself inappropriately before someone saw him and yelled, and he ran off.
About 20 minutes later, the same man was seen in the yard of another sorority house a few blocks away. Police describe him as Hispanic, with a thicker build, wearing baggy clothing.
