The School of Nursing s Faye Carlson retires after 19 years at Boise State

Boise State News February 10, 2021 Faye Carlson, a clinical associate professor for the School of Nursing, retired in December after serving the university for 19 years. Carlson joined the School of Nursing in 2002 with over 40 years of experience with the primary focus in adult medical, surgical and trauma care. In 2015, she took on the leadership role as the undergraduate pre-licensure program coordinator. She is passionate about teaching foundations and on and off campus clinical experiences for students. Carlson is a member of Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society, Neuroscience Nurses Association and the International Forensic Nurses Association. She completed a forensic nursing certificate program from Kaplan University in 2005. Forensic nurses provide specialized care for patients who are experiencing acute and long-term health consequences associated with victimization or violence. Carlson also has held certifications in critical care nursing and neuroscience nursing.
