Lions Clubs in Ghana donate to Weep Not Child Orphanage
The Accra Metro Lions Club and the Tema Greenwich Lions Club, subsidiaries of the Association of Lions Clubs International, have donated items to the Weep Not Child Orphanage at Ahwerease Damang in the Akwampim South District of the Eastern Region.
The other supporting clubs were Accra Golden Lions Club, Tema Community 25 Lions Club, Accra City, and Akomapa LEO Clubs.
The Orphanage received assorted drinks, cartons of milk, gallons of cooking oil, bags of rice, packets of sugar, toiletries, shoes, sandals, boxes of biscuits, packs of bottled water, clothes, and mattresses.

The holidays can be difficult for those coping with isolation. And, this year, the fight against the spread of the coronavirus has meant a necessary surge in social separation. For elderly individuals, loneliness can be especially difficult.
At Harrogate, a not-for-profit life plan community in Lakewood, isolation of the residents has been a concern of the staffers this season.
Kelly O’Toole, MSW, director of social services at Harrogate said, “COVID-19 has had such an impact on everyone, especially our seniors. Chubbuck Lions Club hosts Special Needs Christmas Drive-Thru

POCATELLO, Idaho (KIFI) - The Pocatello community felt the Christmas spirit on Sunday.
The Chubbuck Lions Club held a Special Needs Christmas Drive-Thru at the Red Lion Hotel. Traditionally, the club holds a Christmas dinner every year for the special needs community, but due to COVID-19, the dinner could not take place.
That didn t stop event organizer Daniel Parrish from finding a way to make this happen. These people, these amazing members of our community, I ve grown up with them, Parrish said. They re my friends. The idea of not doing something for them this year just wasn t an option for us.

In what was thought to be a very difficult year due to COVID-19, the Naperville Noon Lions Club have completed a successful annual raffle and virtual 5K Turkey Trot thanks to the support of the citizens of Naperville and surrounding communities.
On Dec. 1, state Rep. Grant Wehrli was on hand to draw the winning raffle tickets from 3,000 tickets sold. Between Nov. 14 and Nov. 29, over 1,350 runners ran the course of their choice with many of them running on Thanksgiving morning.

Since the coronavirus gripped New Jersey some nine months ago, nonprofit organizations, social agencies, community and church groups, businesses and individuals have worked nonstop to help those who have been hit hardest financially.
And, these good works show no sign of waning. There are countless efforts to bring food, clothes and, at this time of year, toys to those who are struggling to make ends meet.
Among this week’s events are a toy giveaway in Newark and a winter accessory distribution in Toms River.
