The chances of survival for cardiac arrest drop by seven to 10 per cent for every minute that the victim is not resuscitated.
According to the Singapore Heart Foundation (SHF), around 3,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests occur in Singapore every year.
With one-third of the casualties being women, SHF has unveiled a female cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) manikin vest to help save women s lives on National Life Saving Day (Jan. 17).

Female manikin vests to be distributed to 60 training centres
SHF will be distributing the female manikin vests to around 60 accredited CPR+AED (Automated External Defibrillator) training centres locally.

Singapore Heart Foundation launches first of its kind female CPR manikin vest for training use
Those taking cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) courses will soon be able to practise the emergency procedure on female physiques, with the launch of a female CPR manikin vest by the Singapore Heart Foundation (SHF). The vest, launched in conjunction with National Life Saving Day 2021, has been described as the first of its kind and can be fitted on most CPR manikins in the market, said SHF in a press release.
I saw Martin (not his real name) after he was admitted to the hospital. The police had brought him in after he called them to report that he was being attacked by a group of people in his home. When the police arrived at his flat, he charged at them and had to be pinned down and cuffed.
He later explained to me that he was the victim of a conspiracy, of a nefarious network that comprised the Government, the Singapore Police Force, the Singapore Civil Defence Force, his neighbours and many others that he did not even know of. He had deliberately wanted a confrontation with the police whom he knew were keeping him under constant surveillance.

Singapore s Ministry of Home Affairs starts vaccination exercise for Home Team’s frontline healthcare officers

The Ministry of Home Affairs, Singapore started the vaccination exercise for Home Team officers involved in frontline healthcare operations on 11 January 2021 as per a press release.
The exercise includes:
Staff from the Home Team Medical Services Division
Frontline officers from the Home Team Science and Technology Agency - who run laboratory tests on the swab samples taken from travellers
Frontline officers from Singapore Prison Service’s medical services division.
This is in line with the Expert Committee’s recommendation for persons at risk of being infected by COVID-19, in particular healthcare workers and workers at the frontline of our national COVID-19 response, to be vaccinated first.
