Bald eagle rescued from Chittenango Creek euthanized due to injuries
A bald eagle had to be euthanized after suffering severe head injuries from falling onto ice on Chittenango Creek in Bridgeport over the weekend.

CHADWICKS, N.Y. – A bald eagle had to be euthanized after suffering severe head injuries from falling onto ice on Chittenango Creek in Bridgeport over the weekend.
Wildlife rehabilitators at the Woodhaven Wildlife Center in Chadwicks were called in to help the Department of Environment Conservation rescue the bird on Saturday.
Judy Cusworth, who runs the rehabilitation center with Vinny Egresits, say the bird hit a power line when trying to fly away, and landed on the icy creek.

Injured bald eagle rescued by the folks from Woodhaven Wildlife Center on Saturday off of Chittenango Creek in Bridgeport will be taken to Cornell Wildlife Clinic on Monday to be evaluated.

Chadwicks, N.Y. - It was as quiet as quiet could be at the Woodhaven Wildlife Center just off of Oneida St. in Chadwicks on Saturday, until the phone rang.
Judy Cusworth and Vinny Egresits run the not-for-profit wildlife rehabilitation facility on their property off of Oneida St. in Chadwicks.
