A Crystal River man faces a felony that could put him in prison for life after he was arrested for molesting a young girl. Tyler Scott Miles, 20, is due to appear in court Feb. 2 for a status hearing on his life-felony charge of molesting a child younger than 12 years old. Citrus County Sheriff’s Office deputies transported Miles Dec. 16 from the Hillsborough County jail to the Citrus County Detention Facility after Tampa police arrested him Dec. 9 on a local warrant issued Dec. 8, according to court records. Miles remains in custody without a bond. According to the affidavit for Miles’ arrest warrant, Citrus County Sheriff’s Office authorities responded Nov. 19 to a Crystal River address to investigate a report of child-molestation.

Citrus County COVID-19 infection rate down slightly; hospitalizations stabilize

A Crystal River man faces a drug-trafficking charge after Citrus County Sheriff’s Office authorities discovered 23 kilos of marijuana in a Hernando home he was renting. Members of the sheriff’s office’s Tactical Impact Unit were about to execute a warrant Thursday, Dec. 10, 2020, to search Mykel Anthony Nelson’s rented house off of East Delight Street, when other deputies informed them the 27-year-old was leaving.
