Citrus County Sheriffâs Office investigations into a Floral City dispute and stabbing continue but they rest on a manâs willingness to cooperate.
Detectives with the agencyâs Major Crimes Unit have yet to make an arrest in connection to the aggravated battery from the morning of Monday, Nov. 30, 2020, off of East Head Court, Sgt. Lee Carey said Monday, Dec. 14.Â
Carey said one of the two men involved in the incident are not working with detectives because theyâre unsure if they want to pursue charges.
According to a redacted sheriffâs office case report, authorities responding to a disturbance spoke with a woman who said she got into an argument with a man she was moving in with.

An Inverness woman in custody on pending drug-trafficking charges was arrested again for striking another inmate.
After reviewing surveillance footage and speaking to the woman sheâs accused of attacking, Citrus County Sheriffâs Office deputies booked 42-year-old Devona Denise Ruiz back into the county jail under a third-degree charge of battery against a detainee.Â

Itâs alleged, according to the arrest report, the woman walked over to Ruiz, who then lunged at the woman and struck her multiple times up against a wall until the woman fell.
Deputies spoke with the injured woman, who said Ruiz accused her of starting a fight over her boyfriend. Ruiz did not want to speak to deputies, according to her arrest report.
