A flag march was taken out in Karachi on Saturday, with 50 fire tenders and two bowsers, which were procured by the federal government for the metropolis last month, leaving the Governor House to journey through the city and return.
The fleet of the fire tenders and bowsers passed through Sharae Faisal, Karsaz Road, Hassan Square, Ghareebad, Liaquatabad and Nazimabad, and retraced the route to return to the Governor House.

Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar said on Sunday that Karachi was not an ordinary city and that it had not been given its rights despite providing resources to the whole of Pakistan.
He was addressing a ceremony at Governor House in Karachi for the handover of 50 fire tenders and two water bowsers to the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) with Sindh Governor Imran Ismail also attending the event. The fire tenders had arrived in Karachi last month to boost the city s fire emergency system.

ISLAMABAD: The PTI has constituted an 11-member parliamentary board for the selection of candidates for the upcoming Senate polls, The News reported on Thursday.
The board was formed by Prime Minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan who will also head it, read the official notification issued by the party.
The other members of the board include, Sindh Governor Imran Ismail, Governor KPK Shah Farman, Governor Punjab Chaudhry Sarwar, Minister for Defence Pervaiz Khattak, Minister for Planning Asad Umar, Minister for Education Shafqat Mehmood, Chief Minister Punjab Usman Bazdar, Chief Minister KPK Mehmood Khan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Amir Kayani.
1,480 degrees awarded at IoBM convocation

KARACHI: Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the 23rd convocation of the Institute of Business Management (IoBM), Karachi, was held on Saturday in a hybrid format. As the varsity followed guidelines against mass gatherings, a total of 1,480 graduating students watched the ceremony via online streaming.
The chief guest of the ceremony was Sindh Governor Imran Ismail while the keynote speaker was Muhammad Ali Tabba, the chief executive officer of tue Lucky Cement Limited. Those who attended the ceremony included IoBM Chancellor Bashir Jan Mohammad, members of the board of governors, IoBM President Talib S Karim, Executive Director Sabina Mohsin, Rector Dr Syed Irfan Hyder, deans, heads of academic departments, members of the convocation committee, and PhD and MPhil graduates and Gold medallists for the year 2020.
