The Sindh government, through Solid Waste Management Board (SSWMB), has signed two separate agreements of solid waste management operation with Chinese and Spanish firms to lifting and dumping 3500 tons of garbage from districts, Korangi and Central from the second week of August.
This emerged on Monday when Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah presided over a joint meeting of the officials of Chinese firm M/s Gansu and Spanish firm M/s Urbaser here at CM House where an operation agreement was also signed.

SSWMB to coordinate with civic agencies during Eidul Azha

The Sindh Solid Waste Management Board (SSWMB) has announced that it will work in coordination with all the civic and local government departments during Eidul Azha.
SSWMB Managing Director (MD) Zubair Channa held a meeting with representatives of all the civic agencies of the city on Sunday regarding preparations for the coming Eid.
SSWMB Executive Director Operations Tariq Ali Nizami, officials of the Karachi Cantonment Board, Cantonment Board Faisal, Malir Cantonment Board, Korangi Creek Cantonment Board, Manora Cantonment Board, Karachi Port Trust (KPT) and Pakistan Railways attended the meeting.
According to a statement issued by the SSWMB, the board had complete arrangements for cleanliness of animal entrails in all the seven districts of the city.
