In a letter to the chief minister, he raised serious concern about the capacity and moral fitness of such academics to lead universities.

All the public sector universities in Sindh on Saturday announced the suspension of on-campus learning and research activities from July 26.
A notification issued by the government’s home department stated that all the public and private sector universities in the province would remain closed till July 31. The varsities, including the Sindh University, Karachi University, Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Sindh Madressatul Islam University, would continue to take the ongoing exams while the admission process for the fall semester would also take place as per schedule.
The interviews for admissions in PhD, MS and MPhil programmes would be conducted on the announced dates, the notification said. No outsider would be allowed to enter the varsity premises during the exams hours, keeping strict compliance with the SOPs for Covid-19.
10 scholarships distributed among students in SU

SUKKUR: The University of Sindh distributed scholarship cheques to 10 scholars of MPhil and PhD on Wednesday awarded by the Sindh Higher Education Commission.
The Sindh HEC had released Rs2.3 million under indigenous scholarship programme for the research scholars of MPhil and PhD, asking the university administration to disburse the amount of Rs230,000 each after selection on the need-cum-merit basis. The scholarship committee had interviewed the scholars and finalized 10 names for the award. The cheques of remaining balance were distributed among the scholars of the Sindh University after deducting admission fees.

KARACHI: The Sindh government is denying children their fundamental right to education guaranteed in the Constitution by failing to provide quality education and that includes the responsibility to ensure holding exams in a fair and transparent manner. Rampant malpractices in the exam system and lack of action against corrupt officials suggest that there is no state willingness to bring improvement.
These points were raised by experts sharing their views with Dawn in the light of reports about the matriculation board exams marred by paper leaks and rampant cheating.
