FRANKFORT — Kentucky State Police (KSP) once again is showing their support of Special Olympics Kentucky (SOKY) by hosting the ‘Cover the Cruiser’ fundraising event at locations across the commonwealth.

Jeff Davis deputies take part in Special Olympics Louisiana torch run CPSO and last updated 2021-05-13 19:43:41-04 Deputies from the Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff s Office joined several other area agencies in participating in this year s Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) Thursday. The LETR is an international series of torch relays run by law enforcement officers, leading up to each state or nation s Special Olympics Summer Games. It s the largest year-round grassroots fundraiser for Special Olympics, and all funds raised in the state go toward supporting Special Olympics Louisiana. The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff s Office is the hosting agency for the Southwest Region run, which is comprised of law enforcement officers from Calcasieu, Cameron, Jeff Davis, and Beauregard Parishes.

KSP will visit Hopkinsville for event benefiting Special Olympics Kentucky

Kentucky State Police will be visiting Hopkinsville next week for an event that will be raising money for Special Olympics Kentucky. The law enforcement agency will be bringing a KSP cruiser and setting up shop at Kroger on Skyline Drive for the event KSP is hosting dubbed “Cover the Cruiser.” Starting Monday, May 17, KSP will be parking cruisers all over the commonwealth at public locations to raise money for SOKY. The event encourages Kentuckians to cover KSP cruisers with custom SOKY stickers for a minimum donation of one dollar. All of the proceeds will go directly to SOKY. “Cover the Cruiser” will officially hit Hoptown on May 20 as a cruiser from KSP Post 2 will be parked in the Kroger parking lot. The fundraising event runs all across the state beginning on Monday, May 17 and lasting through Sunday, May 23.
