Felling Trailers will be hosting its ninth annual Trailer for a Cause online auction of an FT-3 Utility trailer to benefit a nonprofit organization in Fall 2021. This year, Felling has selected the Minnesota Firefighters Foundation (MNFFF) as the Trailer for a Cause auction beneficiary.
The goal of the auction is to bring awareness to various nonprofits that are making a difference by donating 100% of the winning bid to a different nonprofit each year. The previous Trailer for a Cause auctions raised over $25,000 for organizations like Bright Pink – Breast Cancer, SOMN – Special Olympics Minnesota, Children’s Cancer Research Fund, and Lymphoma Research Foundation.

The annual Polar Plunge raises funds for the Minnesota Special Olympics and has millions of people around the country diving into frigid waters to support the cause. Zumbrota s Randy Vath, a warehouse supervisor at Zumbrota Drivetrain, has taken part the last 12 years, raising more than $60,000. Vath plunges not only for the Special Olympics but for his 14-year-old son, Logan.

BEMIDJI Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union in Bemidji recently teamed up with Special Olympics Minnesota for a Polar Plunge event on Saturday, March 27. There is not typically a Polar Plunge event in Bemidji, but due to the pandemic, people across the state have been given the option to plunge virtually as well as in person, a release said. Because this was the first year participating virtually, the branch wanted to make it extra special.

Just as it’s getting warm outside, the temperature dropped quickly for those who participated in the 2nd annual Otter Tail County Polar Plunge as local individuals and teams leaped into the icy Otter Tail Lake on Saturday with style.
This massively successful charitable event for Special Olympics Minnesota raised more than $50,000, well over the initial goal of $35,000. With over 27 locations all around the state, the Polar Plunge is the biggest fundraiser for Special Olympics Minnesota.

These plunges typically play out on frozen Minnesota lakes. But they also happen on-site at schools across the state through the Cool School Polar Plunge. What traditionally started out as year-round sports training for somebody who has an intellectual disability, now we ve got all kinds of programming, said Bill Fish, executive vice president for Special Olympics Minnesota.
