Over the course of the past year, we ve all been encouraged in one way or another to support small businesses, who were hit significantly by the COVID-19 pandemic in one way or another. In efforts to help out financially, one El Paso brewery has put together a campaign to create more awareness for locally owned businesses while also helping out with a charitable cause.
Hey Y’all, Shop Small: #Loco4Local915 has been the three-month campaign started by El Paso’s newest women veteran owned brewery Craft, Rhythm & Brews. The idea behind the campaign is simple. One can purchase a “Hey Y’all, Shop Small” T-shirt and take advantage of discounts at over 30 local businesses across town that have joined in on the initiative. A portion of the proceeds will go to help Centro San Vicente, a non-profit organization that provides community-based primary care health services with particular concern for the poor and needy in the El Paso area.
Chihuahuas and Locomotive Say No More Masks for Vaccinated Fans
When the CDC announced last week that only those people who have not been vaccinated would need to wear a mask outdoors as well as indoors, the chain reaction was felt almost immediately. For MountainStar Sports Group, suddenly they were able to resume on field promotions with fans and relax the mask requirement inside Southwest University Park.

Today, MSSG announced that they have updated their mask policy, effective immediately. Facial coverings will no longer be required at all events at Southwest University Park for ticketed guests who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Masks are still recommended for guests who have not been vaccinated.
A&A All the Way Charity Softball Game Postponed to 2022
The A&A All the Way Foundation started by Aaron and Alvin Jones announced that the inaugural charity exhibition game that was set at Southwest University Park (June 4) will be postponed to 2022 due to scheduling conflicts.
The Green Bay Packers recently announced that they would be having offseason workouts in the next few weeks, which coincides with the day of the charity softball game. The Foundation made it clear that Aaron Jones on-field responsibilities will take priority, while the plan will be to launch the softball game in 2022.
In addition, last week Alvin Jones was seen at Packers rookie camp practice for an NFL tryout. Though nothing has been made official, Alvin is vying for a roster spot alongside his brother but on the defensive side of the ball at linebacker.
While some businesses in El Paso have begun to ease mask restrictions or no longer require face coverings for fully vaccinated shoppers and employees, El Paso’s top doc is still advocating their use.
You’ve probably heard by now that The Centers for Disease Control now says the fully vaxed don t need to wear masks anymore and are safe to do many of the things they could not do for much of the pandemic.
