The Dorset Sunflower Trail to launch this summer at Maiden Castle Farm, Dorchester

A FARM in Dorchester is celebrating the start of summer with the launch of a sunflower trail while raising cash for a hospital s baby care unit. Maiden Castle Farm, nestled at the foot of historic Maiden Castle in Dorchester, will launch The Dorset Sunflower Trail this summer. Families and lovers of nature are invited to visit the farm to see majestic sunflowers in full bloom and support Dorset County Hospital at the same time - with half of the profits from tickets to be donated to the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) and the main hospital charity. Attraction organiser Hazel Hoskin said: We aim to put on this uplifting outdoor experience this summer and importantly raise essential funds for Dorset County Hospital.

LUH issues statement regarding Maternity Department restrictions - Highland Radio

Following today s protest about restrictions in the Maternity Department at Letterkenny University Hospital, the hospital has issued a statement saying restrictions are under continual review, taking into account community transmission rates, local infrastructure within the unit and staffing. Currently, the hospital says birthing partners of women in labour are welcome to attend, subject to screening questions and wearing PPE. A partner or support person may also attend for the 20 week scan. The statement says the hospital had a recent outbreak of COVID-19 in the Maternity Department and it was important for the duration of the outbreak to minimise the number of people visiting the Department.
