DEHRADUN: Following a glacier burst in Chamoli district in Uttarakhand on Sunday, in the hopes of finding more survivors multi-agency rescue operations are underway.
In a recent development, 32 bodies are feared trapped so far and more than 170 people still remain missing as rescue operations continue.
The rescue teams have recovered one dead body, and two others trapped inside a tunnel at the Tapovan power project in Chamoli have been traced alive. One of them who made it alive from the glacier disaster is Rashid from Saharanpur and the other is Suraj Singh from Chamoli.

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court, on Tuesday, has issued a notice to the Centre after hearing a petition filed by lawyer and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, Ashwini Kumar Upadhyay, seeking the court`s order to define the term minority and issue necessary guidelines for its definition.
A three-judge bench of the Supreme Court, headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) Sharad Arvind Bobde and comprising Justices AS Bopanna and V Ramasubramanian issued the notice to the Centre.

NEW DELHI: Foreign direct investment (FDI) inflow into Pakistan is slowing down. In the first half of the financial year 2020-21 July to December inflow of FDI fell by about 29.8 percent to $952.6 million compared to $1.36 billion in the corresponding period of the previous year, the State Bank of Pakistan data revealed.
Pakistan s lion share of FDI comes from China which is developing the much-hyped $60 billion China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). According to a report carried by Dawn newspaper, Chinese investment in the country is slowing down.

NEW DELHI: Major Port Trusts, the Airports Authority of India, the Indian Railways and Posts along with regulatory bodies and companies engaged in welfare activities are among the classes of public sector entities that are out of the purview of the new PSE policy for Aatmanirbhar Bharat .
The Department of Disinvestment and Asset Management (DIPAM) under the Finance Ministry has circulated a list of such PSEs to all ministries and departments of the Central government under the new PSE policy for Aatmanirbhar Bharat. The Union Cabinet had on January 27 cleared the Public Sector Enterprise (PSE) policy for Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
