Rep. Elise Stefanik said Thursday that Republicans need to work as one team in 2022 to win back the House of Representatives, comments made as she emerges as the favorite to replace Rep. Liz Cheney as the House Republican Conference chair.
Stefanik, R-N.Y., made the comments in an interview on Steven Bannon s War Room Pandemic podcast. She emphasized her support for former President Donald Trump and said the GOP must work with Trump in the midterms. Trump endorsed Stefanik for the conference chair position on Wednesday.

She has become a distraction extraordinaire. Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) simply cannot get out of her own way and the hour is getting quite late for this sort of hysterics. It’s not hard, lady. Just keep your mouth shut. And if you can’t, you must go. It’s the same protocol for government workers. If you can work with a new administration, fine. If you want to act like Dumbledore’s Army and all deep state in trying to hamstring a new government, not only should you leave you might be engaging in acts of treason. The intelligence community had scores of folks like this leaking and peddling lies about Russian collusion that never happened. I’m not saying Cheney is a traitor. No. But her inability to read the room is one of the main reasons why she has to go.

President Biden on Thursday framed his push for a $4 trillion economic agenda and higher taxes on corporations and wealthier Americans as a “choice” between who in the country should benefit.
“This is all about making a choice a choice between giving tax breaks to [the] super-wealthy and to corporations and investing in working families,” Mr. Biden said from Lake Charles, Louisiana. “In my view, it’s an easy choice invest in workers wearing hard hats and doing the hard work of rebuilding the country.”
