Britain s largest supermarket Tesco has told suppliers to ship food across the Irish Sea for it to sell in Northern Ireland as it looks to avoid fresh Brexit turmoil later this year.
Tesco has spoken to a number of its suppliers over a change to how it delivers to Northern Irish supermarkets once further Brexit checks are introduced in October.
The company has asked some of those suppliers to start delivering products from Great Britain into the Republic of Ireland. Tesco would then take them over the border into Northern Ireland. The talks were first reported by The Grocer.

Those clicks couldn’t compensate for the UK arm of the Goop business’s losses. According to reports, they amounted to the tune of £1.09million in the wake of the pandemic.
