MOSSVILLE – Rough terrain and rough weather impeded firefighters who tried to extinguish a blaze that resulted from a house explosion Tuesday near Mossville.
A 21-year-old man was hospitalized with burn injuries as a result of the explosion about 2 p.m. at 13723 N. Ivy Lake Road. According to authorities, the injured man is an employee of a heating, ventilation and air-conditioning firm that was installing a furnace at the residence.
The house was destroyed, according to Marvin Roderick, chief of the Chillicothe Community Fire Protection District. We got there pretty quick and it was fully involved (in flames) top to bottom, Roderick said Wednesday morning. There s nothing left.
