Several organizations are hoping to ‘pound out’ childhood cancer at a fundraising event Friday in Mt. Pleasant.
Morey Courts and Recreation Center in Mt. Pleasant is hosting an event Friday to raise money and awareness for childhood cancer research.
People will be able to donate blood through the Red Cross and take a DNA test to see if they’re a match to donate bone marrow.
In the evening, POUND instructor Nicki Schlicht is offering a fun workout class.
Schlicht says the event is close to her family’s heart. Her two year old cousin is currently battling leukemia at the University of Michigan.
