A felon from Arizona was arrested in Anderson with a loaded gun on Monday. Anderson police stopped the suspect, Ernesto Garcia, on Interstate 5 for speeding in a construction zone. Officers said they learned Garcia was a convicted felon, had a loaded gun with a threaded barrel which is considered an assault weapon, and found meth all during the traffic stop. Garcia was booked on drug and weapons charges. A new climate study is shedding light on just how dry this summer will be. A recent UCLA study calculated the soil in the west, saying it is the driest it has been since 1895 – 125 years ago. Researchers said this is because of the lack of rain. The sheriff’s office said the call for the threats came in shortly after 7 a.m. Red Bluff High School was the first location to receive a threat and went into lockdown right after being contacted by the Red Bluff Police Department.
