COVID is spreading 5-7x faster nationwide (than the worst of the first surge that triggered shutdown). Washington is rapidly catching up to the same per-capita speed of spread. And how’s California doing?
L.A. hospitals will no longer accept heart attack victims, unless medics can get their heart beating again where they fell. Triage protocol has reached the point where they have to be pronounced dead without even trying to take them to the hospital, because they have no beds left and have to pick people they think have the best chance of survival. The United States is turning into a M A S H unit.

Tested positive looks “better” which I feel wrong stating it that way but the people who have died in 1 day is terrible!I’m going to hate to see the numbers after these 2 holidays coming up.

Numbers will go up through the roof due to all the idiots who live in our community who continue to have Christmas parties, New Years Eve parties and continue to travel! People get your head out of the sand like an ostrich and wake up to the reality of the danger of COVID-19! We will see an increase in numbers around the second week in January, I assume.

Anyone else have their PUA benefits expire (pandemic unemployment assistance, for self employed and contractor folks)?
Apparently the new federal package offering an extension on unemployment, only covers folks who qualified for ‘regular unemployment’ when they applied.
Those of us who did not qualify because we were self employed, but did qualify for PUA, just lost our benefits on 12/26, and it doesn’t appear the federal government is extending our benefits.
Hoping the relief Governor Inslee just passed will help those of us in this position, but there is no indication on my ESD account that this is coming. And, it’s just a one time payment.
