Signs point to Apple making its Seattle presence clear as logo appears at new office near Amazon

In a neighborhood where it’s tough to tell what might be an Amazon office building or just another apartment complex, Apple is moving into Seattle’s South Lake Union neighborhood and erasing any doubt about who occupies 333 Dexter Ave.
Construction fencing has come down in recent days around the perimeter of the office building, which sits on the edge of Amazon’s urban campus. And white street-level signs bearing a blue Apple logo have gone up, along both Dexter Avenue to the east and Seventh Avenue to the west.

Sub Pop Records has opened a new retail store in Seattle’s South Lake Union neighborhood. The flagship location at 2130 7th Ave. sells shirts, hats, hoodies, various knick-knacks, trinkets and “objets d’art,” according to an announcement, “as well as actual vinyl LP copies (aka ‘records’) of every Hardly Art and Sub Pop release currently in print.” The new location follows the Sub Pop airport store, which opened in 2014.
Sub Pop, which launched in 1988 with early releases by Nirvana, Mudhoney and Soundgarden, is currently home to such acts as The Postal Service, Father John Misty, Beach House and Wolf Parade, among others.

Within the limits of Covid safety measures, Sub Pop on 7th is open now. And (unlike the practically world-famous Sub Pop Airport Store.) you don t risk a cavity search to get in!
The Wing Luke Museum was a tenant at a Public Development Authority property in Seattle s Chinatown for 20 years, giving the city’s Asian and Pacific Islander community the time and space to build up the institution until it could raise the funds to acquire and build out its current property in the International District, which it opened in 2008. The lack of investment in many Black, indigenous and other communities of color is easy to measure, easy to see manifested in the built environment. Homes and commercial corridors boarded up, falling apart or bulldozed into empty lots. But those are just the most visible manifestations of disenfranchisement the stripping of power, whether its voting rights or capital and investment decisions.

Seattle Cancer Care Alliance Among First Washington Healthcare Providers to Receive COVID-19 Vaccine

Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA), the only
National Comprehensive Cancer Network (
NCCN )- member cancer center in Washington state, was selected by the Washington State Department of Health to be one of the first 17 sites to receive the recently authorized COVID-19 vaccine. SCCA will receive a portion of the 32,000 doses allotted to Washington State hospitals and will vaccinate its staff, helping to protect the vulnerable patient population that SCCA serves and preserving access to cancer care in the Puget Sound region.
