Weitere bemannte Missionen soll wie Wang während der Konferenz Global Space Exploration Conference (GLEX 2021) mitteile laut eines Berichts der offiziellen chinesischen Tageszeitung Global Times 2035, 2037 und 2041 erfolgen. Sollte China diesen ehrgeizigen Zeitplan einhalten können, wäre es sehr wahrscheinlich, dass Taikonauten und nicht Astronauten den Wettlauf zum Mars für ihre Nation entscheiden.
