Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi Corp s removal from a United States Defense Department blacklist is further indication that the US government sanctions on Chinese companies are unwarranted, experts said. The removal indicates that restrictions imposed by the US government on Chinese companies do not hold any ground or support, said Wang Peng, an associate professor at the Hillhouse Research Institute of the Renmin University of China in Beijing. In the global market, fair market order cannot be disrupted for biased political reasons. Cooperation and win-win results always outweigh differences on the global stage, Wang said.

Robust performance of services and further market expansion to lift inflows
Foreign direct investment in China is expected to grow at a strong pace this year, thanks to the country s moves to further expand its domestic market and the robust growth of its services sector, said officials and business leaders.
Their remarks came after the Ministry of Commerce said on Thursday that China s actual use of foreign direct investment surged by 38.6 percent on a yearly basis to 397.07 billion yuan ($61.55 billion) in the first four months of this year.
