On April 16, the RCEP Industry Cooperation Committee was established in Beijing. Representatives of the business communities of 15 RCEP member states pledged to engage in close regional industrial cooperation and work together to promote the implementation of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement.
The RCEP, signed on November 15, 2020 and composed of the 10 ASEAN countries as well as China, Japan, South Korea, Australia, and New Zealand, is a free trade zone with the largest population, the largest economy, the most diverse membership structure, and the greatest potentials for development in the world.

BEIJING: China’s foreign trade will maintain its upward momentum in the first half of 2021 after experiencing a strong export performance between January and March, officials and experts say.
Driven by robust demand due to the rapid recovery in major economies, China’s foreign trade amounted to 8.47 trillion yuan (US$1.29 trillion or RM5.33 trillion) in the first quarter of this year, up 29.2% year-on-year (y-o-y), according to the latest data released by the General Administration of Customs.

Tomato farmers in Northwest China s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region have shrugged off a hostile move by Japanese firm Kagome, known as Japan s king of ketchup, which banned tomatoes from the region over widely debunked forced-labor claims, in what has been described as a publicity stunt that has no major impact.
