Work on four Jurong Region Line MRT stations to start this quarter

Construction of four more Jurong Region Line (JRL) MRT stations that will serve Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and the JTC Corporation industrial area is set to begin this quarter.
The Land Transport Authority (LTA) awarded two civil contracts valued at $263 million each for this yesterday.
The contracts are for the design and construction of the four stations and associated viaducts.
This is part of the JRL s third phase, which is expected to be completed in 2029.

Three men have been arrested by police for stealing a truck belonging to a Chinese firm after they were tracked trying to escape in Samburu County.
The truck was reported missing on April 3, 2020, by China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) in Murang a County.
Unknown to the thieves, the tonner tipper truck Registration Number KDA 321J, had a tracking device installed that the company used to keep records of its live location.

RESIDENTS of Malampaka in Maswa District, Simiyu region have been extolling the benefits of the proposed 349km Phase V of the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) to be constructed from Mwanza to Isaka, including employment opportunities and economic growth.

Speaking before Works and Transport Minister Dr Leonard Chamuriho, one of the residents, Mzee Juma Saidi said they were prepared to participate in taking care of the equipment to be used in the construction work.
“We have already mobilised ourselves to work, as we have already seen the arrival of part of the equipment, we are ready to work hard to get income, but we shall also involve ourselves in the creation of history through the project,” he added.
