Gwadar Port, CPEC to provide employment opportunities to thousands from different countries: Zhang Baozhong--China Economic Net

  GWADAR, Mar. 3 (Gwadar Pro) - Chairman of China Overseas Port Holding Company, Mr.Zhang Baozhong said that Gwadar Port and China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) , will provide employment opportunities to thousands of people from different countries, especially in the transport sector.   Speaking to a group of Pakistani journalists on Tuesday afternoon, Zhang Baozhong said that Gwadar Port and CPEC projects had the capacity to benefit not only Pakistan and China but also other regional countries.   He said trade with Afghanistan had already started via Gwadar Port, and so far, thousands of metric tonnes of fertilizer had been sent to Afghanistan.   Other CPEC projects, including International Airport Gwadar, Pak-China Friendship Hospital, Pak-China Skill Development Institute, 300 MW Coal Power Plant, and Desalination Plant, would be completed with China’s financial assistance.

On a recent visit to Gwadar, besides meeting with members of Gwadar Business Club from cities across the country, a group of journalists had a detailed discussion with the Chairman of China Overseas Port Handling Company, Zhang Baozhong. The meeting was arranged by Mahmood Ahmad Khan, Senior Executive Member, Gwadar Business Club. Outlining his green employment plan, Zhang Baozhong said the Gwadar Port and CPEC projects will not only benefit Pakistan and China but also other regional countries, including the landlocked Central Asian States as well.
